TUFTS Health Plan

Are you over the age of 65?
Yes   No

Founded in 1979, the TUFTS Health Plan was the first HMO in the state of Massachusetts. Designed by a doctor of the TUFTS University School of Medicien, Dr. Morton Madoff, the plans provide coverage to both businesses and individuals, especially seniors who qualify for Medicare. Recently, US News and World Report ranked the TUFTS Health Plan  HMO and POS the #2 Health Plan in America. So if you are a resident of Massachusetts, why not take advantage of this regional health plan with such a high national ranking?

In the pursuit to keep its members as healthy as possible, TUFTS addresses far more than just their medical needs. The company offers incentives for maintaining a healthy lifestyle like discounts for gym memberships, massages, and other activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional health.

Individuals can select from a wide spectrum of duductibles and co-pays, and there is even a high deductible plan (HDHP) that can be used in conjunction with a health savings account (HSA), creating a tax-exempt account for paying medical expenses. This kind of plan allows an individual a great deal of liberty in making decisions about his or her health care.

TUFTS has a direct-pay health plan for small businesses that allows employees to choose from in-network or out-of-network physicians and facilities, with differing rate scales applied to each. Plans are also available with or without deductibles, and additional coverage options include prenatal, dental and alternative medicine.
