New York City Health Care Resources

The State of New York is dedicated to superior healthcare for all, and in 2000, Governor George Pataki introduced “Healthy NY,” a program promoting access to quality healthcare by providing complete health insurance to those who need it most.  The program assists small business owners, previously uninsured sole proprietors and workers, along with their families to purchase comprehensive coverage programs directly through the Healthy NY program.  The packages are made more affordable through State sponsorship, allowing insurance to be more accessible to people who were formerly unable to purchase coverage.  Healthy NY includes health benefits that encompass essential health needs including inpatient and outpatient hospital services, doctor’s visits, maternity care, preventative health services, X-Rays, along with emergency services.  Members can also choose benefit packages that include prescription drug plans.
