Moses Lake is a city located in Grant County, in Central Washington. The city is named after a Native American chief, who early Presbyterian missionaries renamed “Moses.” Moses Lake functions as a shipping and distribution hub for the Columbia Basin Project. The city produces goods such as milk, sugar, potatoes, frozen foods, paper, chemicals, and silicon.

The community of Moses Lake began in 1910 as a settlement for farmers. The city was then incorporated in 1938. The area developed in the 1940s when the U.S. Army built a Bomber Training Base at Moses Lake. Today, the city functions as a trade, service, and recreational hub for the entire region.
