Health Challenges in Chicago, IL

The main cause of the leap up the list is that Chicago is said to have a very poor workout environment compared to other major cities in the nation. Nearly one quarter of the Chicagoans who responded to the Men’s Fitness survey said that they had not engaged in any physical activity at all in the thirty days prior to taking the survey. Additionally, sixty percent of Chicago residents have significant health risks due to their weight, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This is twice the United States average.  Such obesity can lead to problems ranging from sleep apnea to heart disease and some forms of cancer. Experts in the field warn Chicagoans that it is critical to get out and exercise now before they start experiencing serious health problems.

Chicago Health Insurance Needs

Because of Chicago's worsening obesity problem, Chicagoans must take responsibility for their health and do what they need to stay healthy. On top of exercising and eating healthily, individuals must get the health coverage they need.
