Health Care in Charlotte, NC

Nursing students at the Carolinas College of Health Sciences are getting to work with a new kind of patient: a mannequin in a simulation lab similar to that of a hospital room. These students get to see and work with machines, tools and drugs in a more real-life setting, so that the are not overwhelmed and confused the first time they actually work in a hospital room. New spine surgeries are also making their way into Charlotte, and will give patients new ways to address their chronic back pain. Plasma disc compression surgery can offer relief that can't be found in typical pain relief options, and releases pressure that happens on the spinal cord and nerves.
