Health Insurance Plans Available from the BCBS of New Mexico

  • BlueChoice A PPO that allows members to pick their physicians and specialists from a network of providers. After members meet their deductibles, they pay coinsurance when visiting medical providers.
  • BlueChoice Plus Has all of the features of BlueChoice, plus provides coverage when traveling across the country, as well as in many foreign countries.
  • BlueEdge HAS: Allows members to save money on their taxes while participating in a PPO plan. Members contribute pre-tax money into a health savings account from which they pay their medical bills.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico administers the New Mexico Medical Insurance Pool, a non-profit program that was created in 1987 to provide health care to New Mexico residents who do not qualify for health care insurance.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico also offers plans for people who are 65 years old and over. These plans include:
