At the end of April 2006, Missouri followed in the footsteps of many other states when the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri decided to take on the name and reputation of Anthem. But nothing has changed in the way of service and dependability. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri has been taking care of Missouri residents for nearly 70 years, providing them with quality health care options. Health Plans Available from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri
Alliance Individual, Alliance CHOICE, RateSaver: These PPO plans allow members to choose doctors from a wide network, or even choose one out-of-network for a higher cost. Prescription drugs, hospitalization and well-visits are covered. Maternity coverage is offered through Alliance Individual. The CHOICE plan is available only to those in the St. Louis metro area.
BlueCHOICE Individual (HMO): As a comprehensive HMO, this plan offers preventive care such as well-visits and immunizations, as well as eye exams, maternity, and prescription drug benefits. It requires no deductible.
Hospital/Surgical Plan: The major focus of this plan is on covering hospitalization and catastrophic injury. However, immunizations are also covered.
HSA Compatible Plans: As a high-deductible health plan, members can choose to use one of the Alliance plans alongside this one in order to utilize a Health Savings Account (HSA), or they may choose to enroll in the Hospital/Surgical Plan.
