BCBS of Massachusetts Health Plans for Individuals and Families
HMO Blue New England, Access Blue: Individuals must choose and stay with a doctor from the network, but there are advantages to choosing this plan for coverage, including a low premium and co-pay for immunizations, preventive care and prescription drug coverage.
Blue Choice/Blue Choice New England (POS): This plan combines comprehensive coverage and low-co-pays with the freedom to choose a provider.
Blue Care Elect Plans: These PPO plans offer a wide choice of deductibles, ranging from $1,000-$5,000. The plan also includes low co-pay pay for office visits, hearing and vision exams, and other preventive services. After the deductible is met, most emergency and hospital costs are provided for free.
Blue Direct, Basic Blue Direct Pay Plans: These plans are offered directly through BCBS Massachusetts. There are many types available, including HMO, PPO and even one for children only.
BlueSaver HSA: Matched with a high-deductible health plan, the BlueSaver option allows members to put money into a tax-advantaged account, which can then be drawn upon if needed to pay medical costs.
