Plans Offered for Individuals and Families by BCBS Kansas City

  • Preferred-Care Blue Premium, RateSaver PPO: With a wide range of deductible levels, this plan works well for a developing family as well as individuals. Covered services include well-visits, hospitalization, eye wear, dental and allergy testing. Members can choose a co-pay or co-insurance. The RateSaver plan offers a lower coverage option, but includes a $5000 term life insurance policy.
  • Blue Care HMO & Blue Care Select HMO: There is no deductible with this plan. Its concentration is in preserving wellness. It offers wellness care, prescription coverage with a co-pay, vision, hearing and life insurance, as well as maternity coverage.
  • BlueSaver HSA: As both a high-deductible plan and a PPO, the HSA offers members the flexibility to choose their coverage limits and their physician. It offers similar coverage as the Preferred-Care plans.
