Health Insurance Plans Offered to Individuals and Families

  • Select Blue, Select Blue Advantage: These family-geared plans offer coverage for a small co-pay.  They offer a selection of deductibles, including a no-deductible option. Hospitalization, well-visits, and prescription drugs are covered, and members can include maternity if desired.
  • BlueChoice Value, Select: These plans offer well-visits for a $30 co-pay. They offer preventive services, and both in and out-patient hospitalization is available as well. Members receive a drug card to pick up prescriptions.
  • Basic Blue: This is not a comprehensive plan.  It offers only hospitalization and major medical care coverage. However, this plan offers the largest network of physicians to choose from, as 90% of the doctors in Illinois belong to this network.
  • BlueEdge: This plan is to be combined with an HSA, and as such it offers many of the benefits of a savings account. Members draw upon these funds when necessary and pay a high deductible, which emphasizes preventive coverage.
